The U16 boys are well into their training leading to the Western Canada Summer Games in August. The boys are beginning to mesh as roles are defined despite the long intervals in-between training sessions. This past weekend the boys had a chance to scrimmage with a sample of the Concordia Mens Basketball Program. Despite being badly outmatched in size and speed we saw the competitive drive that our team holds as they battled hard for four quarters against university level players. Following the scrimmage our team had a chance to take in some advice and words of encouragement from the Concordia men who advised them to continue to play together to produce the best quality basketball.
Our team meets again next weekend for our first official game play in the Great Canadian Shootout, where many players will have the opportunity to compete against club and high school teammates.
